Breaking...... Federal High Court Orders Immediate Release Of Biafran Leader, Nnamdi Kanu
The High Federal Court of Abuja has ordered the
release of controversial director of Radio Biafra, Nammadi Kanu. He was
arrested in October by the the state security service (DSS) on charges of
criminal conspiracy and belonging to an unlawful organisation.
The DSS refused
to release Kanu after the magistrates court in Abuja had granted him bail in
October.
The DSS argued the conditions for the bail were not
met and obtained permission from the High Court to detain Kanu for a further 90
days to investigate on alleged terrorism charges. However, Kanu's supporters and
family members expressed concern as Kanu did not appear in court for the
ruling. His wife, Uchechi Okwu-Kanu, told IBTimes UK: "He has been
released unconditionally but he was not brought to court. What have they done
with my husband? I will wait till he's been seen.
"The ruling came as thousands of Ipob members are
holding a two-day demonstration in Lagos, Nigeria's commercial hub. Protesters
have been asking for the immediate and unconditional release of Kanu as well as
the independence of Biafran territories that used to be part of a separate state
before being annexed to Nigeria during the British colonisation. However, a
source close to the family told EasternRadio in a chat that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu
was released this morning by DSS after
yesterday court ruling which seemed like a defeat of all their plans to detain,
torture and stall the Biafran Agitation.

Osinbajo, where he admitted that his agency received the sum of $289,202,382 on
the orders of former President Goodluck Jonathan in February 2015, according to
a report.
President Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday, ordered the
suspension of Oke over the role of the NIA in the ownership of $43m (about
N13bn) and other currencies uncovered in Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Buhari also ordered the suspension of the Secretary to
the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir Lawal, in connection with his
indictment for contract fraud by a Senate ad hoc committee on mounting
humanitarian crisis in the North-East.
A top government source, on Thursday, said that the
Osinbajo-led committee had directed Oke to submit documents to back his claim.
It was learnt that the suspended NIA boss had also
gathered documents which would be formally submitted to the panel showing that
the transaction was approved by Jonathan through the embattled former National
Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.).
It was learnt that the transaction was known as an
intervention fund for national security or special services with the aim of
fighting insurgency during the six weeks period between February 14, when the
Presidential/National Assembly elections were postponed and March 28, when the
polls were held.
However, operatives of the EFCC are said to be working
on the theory that the money was meant for the prosecution of the 2015 general
elections.

Nuclear War Could Break Out At 'ANY MOMENT'.........North Korea
North Korea has consistently issued threats of war toward the United States in recent decades, but the Trump administration's announced end of a "strategic patience" policy with Pyongyang has upped the ante in terms of warnings and bellicose rhetoric.
North Korea's UN deputy representative, Kim In Ryong, on Monday unleashed at a hastily called UN press conference a torrent of threats, war scenarios and rhetoric aimed at the United States.
In New York, North Korea returned verbal fire. North Korea's UN ambassador condemned the US naval buildup in the waters off the Korean Peninsula, plus the US missile attacks on Syria.
While reporters at the United Nations have heard similar rhetoric from North Koreans before, Monday's forceful wording was on a higher level.
The deputy ambassador, reading from a statement, said, "The US is disturbing the global peace and stability and insisting on the gangster-like logic that its invasion of a sovereign state is 'decisive, and just, and proportionate' and contributes to 'defending' the international order in its bid to apply it to the Korean Peninsula as well."
Kim said his country is ready to react to any "mode of war" from the United States.
Any missile or nuclear strike by the United States would be responded to "in kind," said the North Korea representative.
